2019 Futures Cup Squad Announcement
The Caledonian Cougars head to the 2019 Futures Cup at Oaklands College, St Albans.
Once again, the Caledonian Cougars will compete in England Hockey’s Futures Cup; a tournament designed to simulate international competition, giving these highly-talented young players the opportunity to test themselves against regional teams. The tournament is a display of competitive U15 and U17 age-group hockey, where both boys and girls demonstrate the standard required to compete at this level.
Last year, Caledonian Cougars U17 Girls won bronze, with both U15 squads and the U17 Boys finishing fifth.
The 2019 Futures Cup will be held from Wednesday 21st August – Saturday 24th August at Oaklands College, St Albans.
Scottish Hockey’s Head of Performance, Andy Tennant, said: “The Futures Cup provides a great competitive opportunity for our best young players in both genders, at two key stages in our talent pathway. It gives our aspiring young athletes a chance to see the depth and quality of talent in other parts of GB – and to compete and benchmark themselves against their peers in England and Wales. We are committed to contributing even more athletes to Great Britain senior programmes and teams in future and the Futures Cup is an integral part of that journey.”
