Scottish Hockey Club Development Programme
Application Information
2009 Intake


The Scottish Hockey Club Development Programme provides direct support to clubs to assist them to develop sustainable structures, be more proactive and plan for the future.


Applications are now being accepted for the 2009 intake of clubs.


Clubs selected to be part of the programme will receive support to help them:
• Plan for the future
• Manage volunteers
• Link with schools
• Access funding
• Provide quality activity


Scottish Hockey will provide support through a variety of means including:
• Planning workshops
• Attending  a minimum of 4 meetings per year
• Advice across all areas of running a hockey club
• Templates to assist in the organisation and management of the club
• Financial support


To be part of the programme the club needs to
• Commit to being part of the programme for three years
• Commit time and effort to the programme (Amount will depend on number of volunteers and size of club)
• Involve the whole club
• Have sufficient volunteers to implement the programme
• Demonstrate availability of activity for the whole community
These criteria will be used to select clubs to enter the programme.


Time scales for the application and start of the programme include
• Applications due  - 30th June 2009 Now extended till the 17th July.
• Initial meeting with clubs - By September 2009
