Great Britain Coach Engagement Day

Great Britain Prepares is offering a once in a lifetime opportunity to access the coaches and athletes who will be representing Great Britain in the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The GB Coach Engagement Day is Open to qualified hockey coaches and will take place on Thursday, 17 May 2012 at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre, Buckinghamshire - home to the Great Britain hockey teams

The day will include the following:

• The chance to watch, hear and learn from GB men's squad coaches Jason Lee, David Bunyan and Bobby Crutchley as they put their athletes through a two hour training session
• The chance to watch, hear and learn from GB women's squad coaches Danny Kerry, Karen Brown and Craig Parnham as they put their athletes through a two hour training session
• The opportunity to question the coaches LIVE, led by compere Howard Bentham (BBC Hereford and Worcester)
• A series of workshops with a top presenters, including;
  - The English Institute of Sport and Polar, a leader in sports instruments and heart rate monitoring
  - The Coach's Psychological Toolbox - Bryan Jones, Principal Lecturer in Coaching & Performance at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) and Level 4 Hockey Coach Award.
  - Movement Skills - John Trower, Level 4 Hockey Coach Award and coach to triple Olympic medallist Steve Backley
• Lunch, tea and coffee
• Information and goody bag

This incredible opportunity costs just £65 for qualified hockey coaches.

UKCC Courses

For potential and current coaches, Scottish Hockey offer number of coaching courses that you can undertake to gain coaching qualifications.

For volunteers, senior school pupils, parents and teachers, we offer a short introduction to the basic skills in hockey.  See below for details of our upcoming Leaders Courses.  Please contact the relevant person for further details.

UKCC Level 1 coaching courses cost £150 for Scottish Hockey members and £200 for non-members.

UKCC Level 2 coaching courses cost £400 for Scottish Hockey members and £450 for non-members. (This includes a copy of the NAC sports analysis software)

Scholarship funding is available direct from sportscotland for courses from 1^st March 2012 and will be provided to Scottish Hockey members who apply using the application process detailed on sportscotland website.  Funding available will be 50% for UKCC Level 1 course participants.  For further information and application form go to:
