Caledonian Cougars U17 Girls 2-0 Celtic Jaguars U17 Girls

Caledonian Cougars U17 Girls won their first match of the Futures Cup 2017 with an excellent 2-0 victory over Celtic Jaguars from Wales.

It was honours even at half time but the Cougars took the lead shortly after the restart when Emily Dark struck from a penalty corner to put her side in front.

The team from Scotland doubled their advantage with just three remaining when Bronwyn Shields scored, from another penalty corner routine, to put the game to bed.

 

Mercia Lynx U15 Boys 5-1 Caledonian Cougars U15 Boys

It was a 5-1 defeat for Caledonian Cougars U15 Boys in their second outing of the Futures Cup.

Mercia Lynx took the lead as the end of the first quarter approached. Tom Ferris provided the strike to make it 1-0 on 14 minutes.

It was 2-0 midway through the second quarter when Lewis Rhodri finished off a penalty corner to double the Lynx’ lead.

The Cougars immediately struck back and it was Jake Inglis who provided the strike to pull the score back to 2-1.

Then just before half time the Lynx struck again with Rhodri bagging his second of the afternoon.

A goal right after half time brought the score to 4-1 and it was James Palmer who got his name on the score sheet from open play.

Adam Hewitt made it 5-1 in the final quarter, which was how the match ended.

 

Saxon Tigers U15 Girls 6-0 Caledonian Cougars U15 Girls

Saxon Tigers U15 Girls were the victors against Caledonian Cougars with a 6-0 win in the Futures Cup.

At the end of the first quarter Saxon Tigers opened the scoring through a strike by Aimee Plumb.

In a similar scenario in the second quarter to the first, Saxon Tigers made it 2-0 before the break when Lucy Leel scored.

The third quarter saw the Tigers bag another two goals to make it 4-0 with Plumb and Leel both scoring again.

The score went to 5-0 when Alisa Naylor scored just after the beginning of the final quarter before Leel completed her hat-trick, and the scoring, with five minutes remaining.

 

Wessex Leopards U17 Boys 3-0 Caledonian Cougars U17 Boys

Caledonians Cougars U17 Boys were defeated by Wessex Leopards 3-0 in the Futures Cup.

Wessex Leopards broke the deadlock right at the end of the first quarter when Ethan Hoddle opened the scoring from open play.

It was 2-0 at the identical minute in the second quarter – Harry Gough doubling the Leopards’ advantage right on the hooter.

Jack Stubbings scored the Leopards’ third goal in the third quarter tocomplete the scoring.
