When you are not playing hockey for Scotland, what is your occupation?
I am currently on a placement with Genesis (Strategic Management Consultancy). This involves shadowing the Managing Director Alistair Gray and mainly conducting research.
I am also a World Class Lottery funded athlete.
What is the hardest thing about your training programme?
Having to get up early!!
What is the strangest thing you keep in your stick bag?
Nothing that strange really, but I keep on finding dirty kit which I forgot to take out.
What is the most amusing thing that you have seen on a hockey pitch?
When I was at a junior tournament I once saw two coaches have a fight over whether a shot had been a goal or not. I think it was an U12 match. I don't know if I felt more sorry for the kids or the coaches.
What are you reading lately?
Moneyball by Michael Lewis and finished the last Harry Potter in the summer.
Dogs or Cats?
Cats, but neither really I don't like pets.
If you were stranded on a desert island, what 5 things would you take?
1. My girlfriend (Angie)
2. A barbeque
3. Lighter fluid
4. A jet ski
5. A lot of rum and 7up
When did you start playing hockey and what was it that drove you to play for your country?
Started playing at primary school because my friends were playing. Joined a club because they trained on a Sunday and meant that I didn't have to go to Sunday school.
I have always enjoyed sport and try to be the best I can be whenever I play. As soon as I was selected for my first Scotland trial I knew that I wanted to play for Scotland.
