Officiating

There are many ways to become an Official within hockey and it is not just about blowing a whistle.  There are opportunities to be involved within Domestic indoor and outdoor competition and then be appointed to attend International Tournaments with EHF and FIH.

Other roles include -

Umpire Coach: This role is for experienced umpires to support and develop inexperienced umpires to improve their performance. It would be great for umpire development if there were an Umpire Coach within each of the Clubs.

Tournament Director: This person is in control of a Tournament and has responsibility for working with the organising committee to ensure all arrangements have been made and the tournament runs smoothly.

Umpire Manager:  This person disseminates all information to the umpires about game schedules and arranges discussions with the umpires to provide feedback about their performance.  It is also their responsibility to create a team atmosphere and get them to work together.

Technical Officer: This person reports to the Technical Director and manages the Judge.  They check the facilities are suitable and that all team lists have been completed correctly before the game and then supports the Judge.

Judge: This person works with the Techncial Officer and is responsible for the timing of games and keeps track of the goalscorers, substitutions during the game and if any cards were issued by the umpires.
