Members Personal Accident Insurance
Under the terms of Scottish Hockey's Personal Accident Policy all adult and junior members of the Scottish Hockey Union will be eligible for a range of benefits payable as compensation resulting from an accident while
- participating in any recognised hockey event, including any match, competition or trial
- engaging in official practising, training or coaching sessions organised by the club, country or representative body
- on the business of the union

Scottish Hockey has negotiated a major extension to the policy specifically to make a contribution towards covering Dental and Optical Expenses which may occur as a result of accidental bodily injury in our sport.
The maximum benefit payable under this policy endorsment will be up to £750.00 for each and every loss; this includes any necessary remedial treatment resultant from the accident. Cover under this extension is subject to an excess of £50.00 for each and every loss.

"Accident" means a sudden, unexpected, unusual, specific event which occurs at an identifiable time and place, but shall also include exposure resulting from a mishap to a conveyance in which the insured person is travelling.
"Permanent total disablement" means disablement which entirely prevents the member from attending to any business or occupation of any and every kind which lasts 12 calendar months and that the expiry of that period being beyond hope of improvement.
For any member under 16 years of age or undergoing fulltime education, the benefits payable as permanent total disablement shall be deemed to have occurred when an insured person has been totally disabled from attending fulltime education for a period of 12 consecutive months and that the end of that period is beyond hope of improvement and without prospect of being able to undertake any gainful occupation or being able to support him/herself financially.
Pre-existing Conditions
The Insurance cover excludes all claims arising from physical or mental conditions or disabilities of a recurring or chronic nature, from which a member suffered, and was known to suffer prior to the inception of the insurance.
It is further warranted that the member is in good health and free from physical defect or infirmity at the inception of this insurance or at the date of addition.
