PERSONAL ACCIDENT INSURANCE
All registered players are covered by Scottish Hockey's personal accident insurance policy as part of their membership. This includes life and limb, dental and optical cover.
The Personal Accident Policy covers members for accidents which may occur when they are taking part in any recognised hockey event. This also covers all those attending Scottish Hockey's summer Youth Camps.
Personal Accident Policy
Under the terms of the Personal Accident Policy, all adult and junior members of Scottish Hockey will be eligible for a range of benefits payable as compensation resulting from an accident while:
- participating in any recognised hockey event, including any match, competition or trial
- engaging in official practising, training or coaching sessions organised by the club, country or representative body
- on the business of the union
Information about various categories of insurance, and the total amounts payable in the event of specified accidents, can be accessed by downloading the Personal Accident Policy Matrix
Scottish Hockey has negotiated a major extension to the policy specifically to make a contribution towards covering Dental and Optical Expenses which may occur as a result of accidental bodily injury in our sport.
The maximum benefit payable under this policy endorsement will be up to £750.00 for each and every loss. This includes any necessary remedial treatment resultant from the accident. Cover under this extension is subject to an excess of £50.00 for each and every loss.
A full list of definitions, exclusions, and conditions are available by contacting Scottish Hockey.
Pre-existing Conditions
The Personal Accident Policy cover excludes all claims arising from physical or mental conditions or disabilities of a recurring or chronic nature, from which a member suffered, and was known to suffer prior to the inception of the insurance.
It is further warranted that the member is in good health and free from physical defect or infirmity at the inception of this insurance or at the date of addition.
