2009-2010 LEAGUE DETAILS (Promotion, Relegation, Play-Offs)
MEN’S FIXTURES
PRESIDENTS CUP
·
The President’s Cup competition starts on the 17th October 2009.
·
There will be two pools of four teams.
·
Pool A consists of Clydesdale, Hillhead, Menzieshill and Western Wildcats.
·
Pool B consists of Dundee Wanderers, Grange, Inverleith and Watsonians.
·
Teams within each pool will play each other once by the beginning of November.
·
The winner of each pool will play in the Final on the 7th November 2009..
NATIONAL LEAGUE DIV.1
·
Div.1 starts on the 29th August 2009.
·
Teams will play each other once by the beginning of November.
·
After 9 games, the League will split as 6 & 6 (i.e. D1 upper 6 / D1 lower 4 plus the top 2 from Div.2 = lower 6).
·
Upper split (M NL1A) will play each other once from 13th March 2010 to 10th April 2010.
·
Upper split (M NL1A) will play 9 games in 1st half of season + 5 games in 2nd half of season = 14 games in total.
·
Upper split (M NL1A) will retain all results and points obtained from the first half of the season.
·
Lower split (M NL1B) will play each other twice from 13th February 2010 to 17th April 2010.
·
Lower split (M NL1B) will play 9 games in 1st half of season + 10 games in 2nd half of season = 19 games in total.
·
Lower split (M NL1B) will not retain any results or points obtained in the first half of the season. All teams will start the lower split on 0 points and zero goal difference.
·
Where teams have played against opposition at home in the first half of the season, the return fixture after the split will be away.
·
Where teams have played against opposition away in the first half of the season, the return fixture after the split will be at home.
NATIONAL LEAGUE DIV.2
·
Div.2 starts on the 12th September 2009.
·
Teams will play each other once by early November.
·
After 9 games, the League will split into a League of 8, with the top 2 after 9 games moving up to Div.1B (“lower NL1/2” split).
·
The remaining D2 teams (in places 3 to 10 after 9 games) will play each other once from 27th February 2010 to 17th April 2010.
·
The remaining D2 teams (in places 3 to 10 after 9 games) will play 9 games in 1st half of season + 7 games in 2nd half of season = 16 games in total.
·
The remaining D2 teams (in places 3 to 10 after 9 games) will retain all results, goal difference and points obtained from the first half of the season.
·
Where teams have played against opposition at home in the first half of the season, the return fixture after the split will be away.
·
Where teams have played against opposition away in the first half of the season, the return fixture after the split will be at home.
NATIONAL LEAGUE DIV.3
·
Div.3 starts on the 12th September 2009 and ends on the 17th April 2010.
·
Teams will play each other twice during the season.
·
This Division will not be split.
·
Teams will play 18 games in total.
REGIONAL LEAGUES (RCL1, RCL2 and RLN)
· RCL Div.1, RCL Div.2
and RLN starts on the 12th September 2009 and ends on the 17th April 2010.
·
Teams will play each other twice during the season.
·
These Divisions will not be split.
·
RCL1 Teams will play 18 games in total.
·
RCL2 Teams will play 16 games in total.
·
RLN Teams will play 20 games in total.
DOMESTIC PLAY-OFF’S
·
NL1 - NL2 - The 3rd lowest placed team in Div.1 (lower) will take part in a one-off play-off match at Peffermill against the highest placed team in Div.2, on a date to be confirmed.
·
NL2 - NL3 – The 2nd lowest placed team in Div.2 will take part in a one-off play-off match at Peffermill against the 2nd highest placed team in Div.3, on a date to be confirmed.
·
NL3 - RL’s – The two lowest placed teams in Div.3 will take part in a one-off play-off match at Peffermill against the highest placed 1st XI team in RCL1 and the highest placed 1st XI team in RLN (unless the highest placed 1st XI teams in RCL1 and/or RLN are the League winners; see promotion and relegation notes below), on a date to be confirmed. The draw will be made in April 2010.
PROMOTION & RELEGATION
PROMOTION
·
D2 – No automatic promotion - see “Domestic Play-Off NL1 - NL2” above.
·
D3 – The highest placed team in Div.3 will be promoted to Div.2.
·
RCL1 – If the highest placed team in RCL1 is a 1st XI team, they will be promoted to Div.3.
·
RCL2 – The two highest placed teams in RCL2 will be promoted to RCL1.
·
RLN – If the highest placed team in RLN is a 1st XI team, they will be promoted to Div.3.
RELEGATION
·
D1 - The two lowest placed teams in Div.1 (lower) will be relegated to Div.2.
·
D2 - The lowest placed team in Div.2 will be relegated to Div.3.
·
D3 - The lowest placed team(s) in Div.3 will be relegated to RCL1 and/or RLN, only if the highest placed teams in RCL1 and/or RLN are 1st XI teams.
·
RCL1 – The two lowest placed teams in RCL1 will be relegated to RCL2.
EUROPEAN PLAY-OFF’S
·
The highest placed team in the Men’s Div.1 upper split (NL1A) will qualify as the seeded team for the highest ranked European competition.
·
The 2nd placed team in the Men’s Div.1 upper split (NL1A) will play a one-off European Play-Off match against the Scottish Cup winners at Peffermill, on a date to be confirmed.
·
If the Scottish Cup winners are one of the 1st or 2nd placed teams in NL1A, there will be NO European Play-Off, and the top two teams will automatically qualify for Europe.
WOMEN’S FIXTURES
NATIONAL LEAGUE DIV.1

The Reserve League starts on the 12th September 2009.

Teams will play each other once by the end of November.

After 11 games, the League will split into an upper League of 6 and a lower League of 6.
·
Upper split (W RLA) will play each other twice from 13th February 2010 to 17th April 2010.
·
Upper split (W RLA) will play 11 games in 1st half of season + 10 games in 2nd half of season = 21 games in total.
·
Upper split (W RLA) will retain all results and points obtained from the first half of the season.
·
Lower split (W RLB) will play each other twice from 13th February 2010 to 17th April 2010.
·
Lower split (W RLB) will play 11 games in 1st half of season + 10 games in 2nd half of season = 21 games in total.
·
Lower split (W RLB) will retain all results and points obtained from the first half of the season.
·
Where teams have played against opposition at home in the first half of the season, the first return fixture after the split will be away.
·
