Further Update on COVID-19
Following last week’s decision to suspend all domestic hockey matches, Scottish Hockey has been continuing to take advice and guidance regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Scottish Government has subsequently published advice to organisers of mass events which recommend that; “sports may also wish to consider the viability of holding grassroots and club activity, in light of the increased spread of the virus and the impact that may have on both participants, staff and volunteers”.
In light of these guidelines and other advice, Scottish Hockey has made the decision to suspend all hockey activity indefinitely. A further update will be issued on or before Monday 30th March.
Our first priority was and will continue to be the health and well-being of players, coaches, umpires and officials alike.
On notification that resumption of activity may take place, members may train straight away. Clubs will be given at least fourteen days’ notice for the restart of any competitions to allow for sufficient planning and preparation.
