Vice President

The Vice President role is significant for Scottish Hockey and one that offers tremendous opportunity to support the exciting growth of hockey in Scotland. The Vice President acts as a key liaison between Scottish Hockey and its clubs, districts and members.

Any member of Scottish Hockey who wishes to stand for the role can complete the Vice President Nomination Form and send it to [email protected] no later than 9am on Monday 10th August 2020.

In the interests of having a balanced representation within Scottish Hockey’s governance structure, nominations are particularly welcome from people currently under-represented on Scotland’s governance structures such as women, individuals with a disability, LGBTI persons, ethnic minorities and those aged under 50.

Skills are vital to the function of Vice President and candidates should have commitment to the organisation; integrity, strategic vision and good independent judgement; a willingness to devote the necessary time and effort to their duties as Vice President; good communication skills; tact and diplomacy; willingness to speak one’s mind and listen to the views of others; and an ability to work effectively as a member of a team.

When nominating, members should have regard to the need for the Vice President to have these skills.

To be successful, the candidate is required to receive nominations from club trustees from five different clubs across a minimum of two districts.
