Advice for indoor league programme in event of adverse weather
The 2012-2013 National and Regional Indoor League programme is
scheduled to be played at various venues across Scotland between
Saturday 8th December 2012 and Sunday 10th February 2013.
As a result of the adverse weather during recent seasons, Scottish
Hockey will be monitoring the weather and road conditions.
Obviously, safety and common sense is paramount. In the
event of severe weather affecting travel across the whole of
Scotland, Scottish Hockey will make a decision as to whether the
programme will be cancelled. It should be stressed that this
decision will only be taken if the adverse weather and road
conditions affect the whole country, not merely isolated pockets of
the country.
If you have any concerns about weather or travel conditions during
the indoor programme, teams should contact the Technical Official
in the first instance, or the venue Management (after 9am) if you
cannot contact the appointed Technical Official, in accordance with
Byelaw 10.4.3 (below).
• National Indoor Leagues
• 10.4.3 – The appointed Technical Official will be
responsible for contacting the venue and thereafter the competing
teams. The competing teams should contact the Technical Official to
ascertain the playing and travelling conditions. In the event
of no Technical Official being appointed, the teams should contact
the venue. Any team which decides not to travel must contact
the Technical Official to confirm their decision at the earliest
opportunity.

If any National or Regional Indoor League session is cancelled or
curtailed in any way due to adverse weather or road conditions,
every effort will be made to reschedule all unplayed matches.
However, it must be stressed that the available times at the
venues is limited, so teams must be aware that if an indoor session
is not played or is curtailed due to a team (or teams) failing to
appear, the games may not be able to be rescheduled and will not be
played. In the event of a curtailed session taking place due
to one or more teams failing to appear, the remaining teams and TD
should arrange to play matches which are currently scheduled to be
played later in the season if possible, as this will ensure matches
are played when there is an opportunity to do so, and this would
release time later in the season which would help in the
rearrangement of matches.
