Disciplinary Outcome: Mr Cameron Scott (Falkirk GHG)
The Case
Cameron Scott was playing for Falkirk GHG against Granite City Wanderers in a National League Division 2 fixture on 4th May 2013. In the second half of the game Cameron Scott was given a Red Card 1 for an offence against a Granite City Wanderers player.
Following upon the Red Card 1 offence an incident occurred between Cameron Scott and one of the umpires. Cameron Scott acknowledges that the umpire was subject to verbal abuse and also that his hockey stick came into contact with the umpire.
Outcome
Following an Appeals Panel Hearing on Wednesday 11 September 2013, it was the unanimous decision of the Panel that:
Cameron Scott be banned from all hockey, indoor and outdoor, for a period of time up to and including 30th June 2014.
Scottish Hockey President Martin Boag stated, “Scottish Hockey would like to remind all participants that they have a duty to respect others both on and off the field of play and that both verbal and physical abuse will not be tolerated. Hockey is a sport to be enjoyed by all who participate and I would like to reinforce that message.”
