Eugene Connolly & Susie Elms confirmed as team managers for Glasgow 2014

Scottish Hockey is delighted to announce that both Eugene Connolly and Susie Elms have been confirmed by Commonwealth Games Scotland (CGS) as Sports Team Managers for hockey at Glasgow 2014.
In the first of two interviews with the pair, we speak to Scotland Men’s Manager Eugene Connolly.
The former Scotland international coach is no stranger to the management role having been at the helm for two previous Commonwealth Games, Melbourne in 2006 and four years later in Delhi.
His experience and knowledge of a multi-games competition will be invaluable to the Scots and he very is looking forward to one final major event when he manages the senior side on home territory next year.
“I’ve been very lucky that I have done two Commonwealth Games. I’ve done Melbourne in 2006 and Deli in 2010, both which were amazing experiences, but to actually have it in Scotland, on our home soil, is a great thing to look forward to”, said Connolly.
“We [Scotland] have a big year this year in terms of the fact we have a World League Round 2 qualifier in Paris during the first week of May.
“We have a good chance of qualifying from that and reaching Round Three in in June, provisionally in Germany. Then we have the European Championships in Vienna in August. That’s three significant tournaments in the year.”
