EuroHockey Nations Championship live on BBC Sport

BBC Sport has secured rights to the EuroHockey Nations Championship.
From 17 August, the BBC will air all Scotland games on iPlayer, the Red Button or online, bringing the audience more hockey than ever before.
At London 2012, Team GB’s women won a bronze medal, the first women’s Olympic hockey medal in 20 years and only the second in their history. A peak audience of 8 million viewers watched Team GB’s men play the Netherlands in their London 2012 semi-final. Participation in hockey has followed suit, following the success of the national teams, with a growth in participation in 2012.
The EuroHockey Nations Championship will be held in Belgium from 17 to 25 August, with both the male and female competitions featuring eight teams.

Scottish Hockey was delighted to learn today that BBC Sport has secured rights to the EuroHockey Nations Championship in Belgium this August.

From 17 August, the BBC will air all Scotland Women’s games on iPlayer, the Red Button or online, bringing the audience more hockey than ever before.

Pam Scott, Acting Chief Executive, said, “This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase top international hockey and we’re delighted that our supporters will be able to watch Scotland Women in the European Championship live on the BBC this August.

“With Glasgow 2014 fast approaching, the public will get a taste of what is in store for them at the Commonwealth Games and this coverage will hopefully will whet people’s appetites for watching high quality hockey next summer.”

The EuroHockey Nations Championship will be held in Belgium from 17-25 August, with both the male and female competitions featuring eight teams. Scotland play England, Germany and Spain in Pool B of the continent’s top international competition.
