iKnow: Bringing good practice to life!

It’s good to share! Sharing good practice and networking can be really meaningful in making our clubs stronger. What can we learn from successful clubs and organisations in other sports which can then be applied to hockey clubs?

This workshop will present real life examples from other sports to show how they have had success.

Dundee United Community Trust (2019 UEFA Grassroots Awards Bronze Medal – Best Professional Football Club in the Community) will present on how they have used football as a delivery mechanism to foster meaningful engagement with their local community, and as a result increase participation in their community programmes

Grampian Flyers Basketball Club (Aberdeen’s Sports Award Club of The Year 2018) will reflect on their recent journey which has included notable successes in terms of:

  • Developing strong partnerships with Active Schools
  • Developing relationships with facilities
  • Creating a charitable governance structure
  • Developing a wheelchair basketball section
