Final places up for grabs in Men’s Arthur McKay Scottish Cup

The semi-finals of the Men’s Arthur McKay Scottish Cup are the focus of the men’s domestic schedule this weekend with both matches taking place at Peffermill.

In the first semi-final (12.00), Inverleith clash with Aberdeen Asset Management National League Division 1 adversaries Grove Menzieshill. The Edinburgh side overcame city rivals Grange 4-2 in the quarter-finals but Chris Anderson’s side, who defeated Dundee Wanderers to reach the last four, will not be easy opponents.

In the second semi-final (14.00), defending champions Glynhill Hotel Kelburne take on Western Wildcats for a place in the final on 25th May. The two sides met only last week in a league fixture at Auchenhowie, with a 1-1 draw providing Vishal Marwaha’s side with confidence going into Saturday’s fixture.

Meanwhile, the league campaign continues for the sides in Aberdeen Asset Management National League Division 2 and 3 this weekend.

On Saturday, Division 2 leaders Dundee Wanderers can maintain their advantage at the top of the table with a win away to sixth place Stepps (15.30, Millerston).

The Taysiders will also have a close interest in the outcome of the fixture between promotion rivals McWhinney Uddingston and Falkirk GHG (16.30, Auchenhowie). A win for Uddingston would take them within a point of their opponents in second place with a game in hand.

Aberdeen GSFP can retain their interest in the second place play-off spot with an away victory over relegation threatened Alpha Data Carnegie (12.00, HMS Caledonia).

On Sunday, bottom of the division Highland desperately need a positive outcome away to Falkirk GHG (14.30, Linlithgow Academy), while CALA Edinburgh can also boost their chances of staving off the threat of relegation at home to McWhinney Uddingston (14.00, Meggetland) but they face a daunting task against an in-form opponent.

In the day’s other Division 2 fixtures, Stepps travel to St. Andrew’s University (13.30, St.Andrew’s University), while Granite City Wanderers are at home to Glasgow University (12.00, Aberdeen Sports Village).

There is a full calendar of fixtures in Men’s Aberdeen Asset Management National League Division 3 this weekend.

First plays third when Erskine Stewart’s Melville travel west to play Ayr in a top of the table contest (14.00, Cambusdoon); with a win for the leaders taking them one step closer to a title win.

However, a victory for Ayr would close the gap at the top of the league and second place Harris Academy could also take advantage if they defeat Aberdeen University at home on Sunday (12.00, DISC).

FMGM Monarchs and Perthshire are also within range of the second place promotion spot; Monarchs travel to Glasgow to face Giffnock while Perthshire are at home to Aberdeen University (13.00, Kilgraston School).

In the bottom half of Division 3, 2020 Renewables Greenock take on Stirling Wanderers (14.00, Inverclyde Academy), Stirling University host Waverley Inveresk Trinity, and Chapman Motherwell travel to Strathclyde University.
