Glynhill Kelburne close the gap at the top of the table

 

Aberdeen Asset Management Men’s National League Division 1
Glynhill Kelburne are closing the gap between them and the league leaders Hillhead, with the Paisley based side sitting only one point behind.
Glynhill Kelburne put on a show stopping performance at the weekend winning 8-0 against PSL Team Sport Clydesdale at the Glasgow National Hockey Centre. After a shaky start to the season they have found their winning form and showed no fatigue the following day with an away result beating Grange 6-1, with the Edinburgh based team getting a consolation goal scored by Mark Cruickshank.
Hillhead are staying top of the league for now after a last minute goal to give them a 3-2 win over ninth place Dundee Wanderers. Hillhead had many chances but struggled to finish them where as Dundee had fewer but took their chances and Paul Johnston keeper making some great saves to deny the west end team.
The Edinburgh derby saw Grange come out on top winning by one goal against struggling Inverleith, goals scoreres for the Staggs were Frank Ryan and Nani Malgosa. Mid table team Grove Menzieshill beat AAM Gordonians 4-2 at home.
Third place Western Wildcats welcomed Edinburgh University to win 4-2, with a game in hand and only sitting two points behind the division leaders, the top of the table is looking tight.
Aberdeen Asset Management Men’s National League Division 2
With one game in hand Uddingston stay top of the league after a big 7-1 win over Granite City Wanderers. Second place Watsonians had a tougher match against fourth place University of St Andrews, drawing 4-4 at home. There is only one point that separates the top two teams as we pass the half way stage in the league.
At the other end of the table bottom place FMGM Monarchs lost 5-1 to Alpha Data Carnegie, they have played 11 games and are still yet to win.
It was a close game between Falkirk GHG and Glasgow University, ending in a 2-2 draw. The student based team will be pleased to have come away with a point after only winning one game so far this season.
Sixth place Erskine Stewart Melville FP beat CALA Edinburgh 5-2, Stepps faced defeat against third place Aberdeen GSFP 4-2.

University of Strathclyde have had a mix bag of results recently, but they put in a brave performance to draw 2-2 with the undefeated 2020 Renewables Greenock.
Stirling Wanderers move off the bottom after a close thrilling 4-3 win over ADTI Aberdeen University.
Harris Academy move up to fourth after a hard fought 4-2 win over third place University of Dundee leaving the students to lose their first match of the season.
We saw a mid-table battle where Giffnock welcomed Highland and beat them 5-3, the northerners have travelled away many times this season so will looking to pick up points after Christmas they have the home advantage.
Perthshire travelled away to Waverly Inveresk Trinity to win 5-3 in Edinburgh adding to their recent solid run of results, winning their last four fixtures.
Regional Leagues – Central Division 1
Grange II make it eight wins out of eight as they stretch away from competitors in the league, they beat Inverleith II 2-0.
University of Stirling drop down to ninth after losing a nail biting match 4-2 against PSL Team Sport Clydesdale II who are having a decent first half of the season.
Tenth place Edinburgh University III played out of their skins and managed to hold Thomsons Cycles Kelburne II to a 1-1 draw.
Struggling Western Wildcats II, who sit bottom of the table only just lost out to Stepps II, loosing by one goal with the final result 4-3. Second place Hillhead II beat Edinburgh University II 2-1.
Central Division 2
Bottom of the table Livingston & West Lothian put in a brave performance but lost 5-2 to Falkirk GHG II.
Rottenrows Blue Sox remain at the top of the division but had a challenging match against Clydeside who didn’t make it an easy win for the top team who won 4-2.
Struggling Glasgow University II lost at home 6-3 to on form Anchor, the student based team have had a hard few weeks facing majority of the top teams.
Watsonians II drop to seventh in the table after losing a close game to East Kilbride 3-2. GHK move up fifth after a solid 4-0 away win against Alpha Data Carnegie II and third place Uddingston II won 4-0 against CALA Edinburgh II.

North division
