Hillhead Ladies looking to maintain pressure on leaders

Weekend Preview

Aberdeen Asset Management Women’s National League Division 2
Hillhead are sitting very comfortably in second place with a game in hand as it is very tight at the top of the table. They welcome Erskine Stewart Melville FP who they lost by one goal earlier on in the season, it will be a close match between these two sides.
League leaders AAM Merlins Gordonians face mid table team Borders Fjordhus, who have won three and lost three. There was one goal in it when they played each other last time, if the southerners put out a strong performance it will be another close match and could snatch a point.
Struggling University of Dundee face fellow student led team Glasgow University, both sitting low in the division and will desperately want points off each other to progress further.
At the end of the table ninth place Haddington play Granite City Wanderers, Wanderers beat them 3-2 last time, so expect a close match as they both fight for the points.
Aberdeen Asset Management Women’s’ National League Division 3
Not many matches this weekend as third place Stirling University play ADTI Aberdeen University. There are only three points between the two student based teams and it ended it in a draw last time they played.
Bottom side University of Strathclyde face the top of the table, University of St Andrews, last time these two faced each other the east coast team won very comfortably 11-0, and they will be wanting a repeat performance.
Championship – West Division
Top side Milne Craig Clydesdale Western II travel away to Stirling Wanderers who started poorly to the season but have won their last two matches, it will still be a challenge for the Wanderers after loosing 7-0 earlier in the season to the league leaders.
Glasgow Accies had a great start to the season but in recent weeks have only picked up one point from four matches. They face Kelburne II, when these teams last met the Accies dominated and won 8-1, they will be hoping for the same performance if they can find that form again.  Milne Craig Clydesdale Western III play Giffnock in a friendly.
East Division
Edinburgh University II have a game in hand and are topping the league, they face CALA Edinburgh II who are second and five points behind the top team. Last time these two met the students won by one goal.
Bottom side Edinburgh University III welcome Grange EL, it ended in a 1-1 draw when they played each other earlier in the season so it will be a close match this weekend.
Grove Menzieshill A play Watsonians A which ended in a draw in the latter part of the season, Menzieshill A have had a stronger season where as Watsonians will be wanting the points to move up the table.
