New national & regional indoor league structure announced for 2012-13
Scottish Hockey has issued a communication to all member
clubs today regarding a new National Indoor League and Regional
Indoor League structure that will be implemented from the 2012/13
season onwards.
The most significant change for clubs will be that the National
Indoor Leagues will be open to 1st XI teams only, with
the formation of Regional Indoor Leagues being primarily structured
by their geography and number of entrants from each region.
The new structure is the result of considerable work by an
Indoor Short Life Working Group, where a consensus was achieved and
proposals for a new structure produced.
After consideration, Scottish Hockey’s Management Committee
recommended acceptance of the proposals, with minor amendments that
have subsequently been incorporated, which have been ratified by
Management and the Scottish Hockey Board of Directors.
