New Rules and Seminar
There are new rules being implemented by the FIH for all
competitions from 1st September 2012. This will apply to
competitions run by Scottish Hockey.
The main changes are:
- Own goals can be scored (indoor and outdoor)
- Free Hits can be lifted (outdoor)
- Hands cannot touch the floor (indoor)
Please note: Stick specification will only cover international
games at the moment.

National Seminar
Our very own Olympic Officials will be in attendance at theis
year’s National Seminar, which is suitable for technical officials,
umpires, coaches and players who are involved in school, district
or national league competition.
The National Seminar will be held at Stirling Management
Centre from 1pm – 4pm on Sunday 26th August 2012
The programme will be:
- Ged Curran, FIH Umpire will deliver a session on his
‘Experiences at the Olympic Games’ - Discussion will then be held on the new rules and the
implementation of these - Information will then be delivered about the new discipline
procedures for 2012/13 season
