Scottish Hockey shortlisted for Sport Governing Body Award
Scottish Hockey has been shortlisted for the Sport Governing Body Award at the Scottish Sport Awards 2022.
The Scottish Sport Awards 2022, hosted by Team Scotland and sportscotland, will take place at the prestigious Edinburgh International Conference Centre in Edinburgh, on Wednesday 7 December, to celebrate the best of Scottish sport.
Scottish Hockey is in the Reset phase of its Reset, Build, Excel vision, a three-stage approach to achieving the vision of being a professional, commercially sustainable, visible, diverse and world-class governing body over a ten-year period.
Scottish Hockey is very proud of the efforts of all involved to be able to deliver such an incredible amount in such a short period of time. We delivered over 20 key changes but here are the key highlights are:
- Governance review and Reset
- Senior level Staffing Reset and restructure
- Company Reset rebrand
- Digital Reset with new Game Management System
- Increased senior level visibility to help Build relationships
- Increased level of consultation and communication, both face to face and using technology to help Build relationships
The governing body recently announced dates for an upcoming Strategy Roadshow to gather views from its membership, to inform the development of the new Scottish Hockey strategy.
Scottish Hockey CEO, Barry Cawte, said,
“I’m delighted Scottish Hockey has been shortlisted for the Sport Governing Body Award at the Scottish Sport Awards 2022. We’re on an exciting journey as we’re just starting our vision, and still have lots to do, so it’s fantastic that the work we’ve done in the last year has been acknowledged.
“In the last year, through our Reset phase, we’ve delivered a governance reset; a rebrand of Scottish Hockey; our new kit deal; our new digital platform; hosted an international tournament; and restructured our workforce.
“It’s a huge accomplishment in a short time.
“Over the last year we’ve put in place the building blocks for the future, and it’s fantastic that this nomination acknowledges the great work we’ve done, and I’m really excited for when we’re in full flow moving into our build and excel phases.”
