Scotland u21 men strike four in win over Wales

Scotland U21 Men clocked up a superb 4-0 victory over Wales at the Glasgow National Hockey Centre in the second game of a three match series. The Scots have now won the series with one game left to play and will look to continue their good form into match three.

It was a very close first half that remained goalless until the break. Jacob Draper for Wales looks a quality player but the Scots did a good job of marshalling him throughout the contest.

It was in the second half that Scotland just seemed to click and take over the game.

Jamie Golden opened the scoring when he finished off a good team goal. The ball was won on the left and then cut back to the penalty spot. The Welsh goalkeeper was tempted out before the ball was played to Golden to tap home and open the scoring.

The Scots had completely relaxed into their groove and Golden then bagged his second double in two days when he made it 2-0. A lovely pass by David Nairn through a crowded D found Golden who struck it sweetly off the bounce for the goal.

Scotland’s third was quite simply a wonder goal. Struan Walker took the ball at the by-line, beat three players, and launched the ball off the crossbar and in from a tight angle to make it 3-0 for Scotland.

A counter attack was tapped home by Alan Johnston to make it 4-0 and complete the scoring in a tremendous performance.

The two meet for the final time tomorrow at 11:30am at the Glasgow National Hockey Centre.
